About the role
We are looking for an experienced Chief Credit Officer to lead and further develop our credit function in Sweden. You will ensure that lending complies with the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority's regulations, the Consumer Credit Act, AML, GDPR, and other relevant Swedish and European legislation.

The role combines strategic responsibility for credit risk with operational leadership. You will drive the credit strategy, ensure a sustainable portfolio, and contribute to growth through efficient and customer-centric processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the operational customer service team
  • Personnel and budget responsibility for the credit department, including membership in the management group
  • Build scalable structures and drive automation and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with teams within Compliance, Legal, Data, and Finance
  • Develop credit models, decision processes, and risk-based pricing with a focus on balancing growth, risk, and customer experience
  • Develop and implement credit strategy, policies, and credit assessment standards in line with regulations
  • Ensure responsible lending and compliance with Swedish and European requirements
  • Monitor and analyze the credit portfolio and drive improvements
  • Present analysis and recommendations to management and the board, as well as handle external relations such as supervisory authorities and auditors

Qualifications
We are looking for you who have an academic degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field, and at least five years of experience in leading roles within credit risk, preferably from banking, fintech, or consumer finance. You have documented experience in lending to consumers and good knowledge of the regulations surrounding credit market companies. You possess a deep understanding of consumer credit legislation, responsible lending, credit risk management, and are well-versed in requirements regarding regulatory compliance, governance, and control.

You have experience working with IFRS 9, credit assessment models, portfolio analysis, and risk management, and are accustomed to balancing commercial growth with sound risk management. Furthermore, you have documented leadership experience and are comfortable collaborating with both cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

We would also appreciate if you have experience in building or scaling credit organizations and ways of working, as well as working closely with product and tech teams to develop credit decisions and improve operational efficiency.

As a person, you are analytical and meticulous with high integrity. The role involves that you can naturally switch between strategic and operational tasks and perspectives.

You communicate fluently in Swedish and English.
